Residents of Strood and the Medway area have been advised to check before they travel on trains over the Easter weekend as there are several alterations to local rail services.
Planned engineering works are set to cause disruption to several regular train services over Easter. Anyone hoping to travel on Southeastern trains over the Easter weekend has been asked to ensure that they pay attention to communications that are being released about the changes to timetables.
Strood residents are advised to check with stations or the Southeastern website before they travel. A spokesperson commented on the disruptions to Southeastern train services, saying:
“Network Rail is conducting major engineering work over the Easter period which will have an impact on our services.”
“We advise any passengers travelling over this period to plan ahead, allow additional time to travel and check our website or the National Rail Enquiries website for a full list of service alterations.”
Commenting on the situation on behalf of Network Rail, the company that will be carrying out the works over Easter weekend, a spokesperson said:
“We work closely with Southeastern to carry out improvement works at times which will disrupt the least number of passengers… We apologise to passengers affected by the improvement work taking place over Easter.”
More information about the disruptions can be found on both the Southeastern and Network Rail websites, and public transport users should perhaps keep an eye out for any flyer printing or short notice visits to print shops by transport officials to spread news of changes.
