A design and marketing agency in Staffordshire is set to hold a charity design-a-thon to raise money by creating hosts of designs that could be executed using advertising techniques such as poster printing.
Stoke-on-Trent based elloDave are planning to design and create promotional material for three charities; with their design teams working for a straight 24 hours to complete the work. The charities are yet to be chosen and can apply directly to the agency to be included into a random draw to be picked out to win 24 hours of free design time. The winners of the draw will be revealed on 16th January.
The creative director at elloDave, Dave Hughes, spoke to The Drum about the charity design event, saying:
“During the design-a-thon, each successful charity will receive eight hours of free creative design time. This time could be used to design an awareness leaflet, promotional print for a campaign or refresh your current website.
“I aim to turn the Design-a-thon into an annual event.”
The successful charities will hugely benefit from the free design work as using professional creative agencies for services such as the creation of brochures, websites and flyers can be extremely costly. Many charities do their design in-house and then produce their marketing materials using local print shops.
Stoke-on-Trent-based elloDave will begin their mammoth 24 hour design session at 9 o’clock in the morning on 20th January and the team will work through the day and night to finish their projects.
