Printing companies in Stoke-on-Trent will have been busy recently as billboard posters are due to be posted around the city, and leaflets due to hit local doormats across the next few weeks, for a campaign to be launched by British Waterways.
British Waterways is using billboards and leaflets as broadcast methods to launch their campaign to encourage more people in the area to discover all that Britain’s canals and rivers have to offer. The campaign ‘Yours to Enjoy Anytime’ highlights that now the warmer weather is coming, whatever your age, you should embrace the great outdoors. British Waterways hopes to show that their waterways have something to offer whether you are looking to relax and unwind with a walk, wild life watching, a picnic or looking to pick up the pace with cycling or running.
As the summer approaches, families are often looking for something to do to amuse their children and whilst many families are currently feeling the pinch, finding activities that will not stretch the budget will be appealing to many. Many families may choose to holiday in the UK this year and the waterways are a free resource available to all, giving young and old, families or individuals, an opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy a change from their routine, without an expensive price tag.
What is more, with more than 50 percent of people in the UK living within 5 miles of a canal or waterway, people will not have to go far to enjoy all that they offer. Have you seen the posters in Stoke-on-Trent?
