Council to print giant greetings card to welcome stars to Stoke-on-Trent

Stoke-on-Trent Council is set to print a giant greetings card to welcome music stars to the region as part of this year’s 2011Live concert.
2011Live is a live music event held in Stoke’s Hanley Park each year in conjunction with Signal 1 Radio. This year’s concert will be held on 16th July and features acts such as Pixie Lott, Tinchy Stryder and Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts. The council has decided to give local school children the chance to welcome these artists to Stoke-on-Trent by printing a huge greetings card that schools can get involved with the production of.
The council is asking school pupils from across the region to send in poems or verses about music in the city and a winning school will then be chosen to have their verse featured in the card, which will then be produced using full colour printing.
Stoke-on-Trent Council will then reward the winning entry with five guest passes to the 2011Live event – plus the chance to meet some of the stars who are performing – and the card will be signed by the artists and returned to the winner as a souvenir. This innovative use of full colour digital printing has captured Stoke-on-Trent’s imagination and the council are expecting entries from across the area. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 13th July. To enter the competition, entrants should send their contact details and verse which must be no more than eight lines long to firstname.lastname@example.org.
