Alton Towers retains their existing PR agency

Alton Towers have announced that they will be retaining their current public relations agency, Cake PR. London-based Cake PR will continue to handle the customer-facing public relations account for Alton Towers resort and theme park, based in Staffordshire, near Stoke-on-Trent. Michele Charles, head of PR at Cake said:
“We will develop a creative but strategic plan to encourage consumers to reconsider their immediate reaction to the Alton Towers Resort, in order to widen and challenge people’s perceptions about the brand and the Resort.”
As well as a strong public relations campaign, Alton Towers relies on a wealth of digital and printed communications to help promote the theme park and resort. For example, maps and leaflets of the park are often distributed to service stations near to Staffordshire to encourage people on the move to pay a visit to Alton Towers. The marketing reach of Alton Towers is then increased by using services like leaflet and flyer printing.
Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire see a lot of tourism coming in from people who initially come to the area to visit Alton Towers, but then who potentially end up spending time in area once they arrive. By having a good PR agency, Alton Towers is helping to draw tourists to the wider Staffordshire area, which is good for the local economy.
Cake PR pitched for the retention of the PR account for Alton Towers against four other organisations and was announced as being successful at the beginning of September.
