Selfridges promotional plans for Manchester and Birmingham stores

SKV Communications, who were already producing PR and local marketing communications for Selfridges’ Northern and Midlands stores, have been re-appointed to continue to promote the department stores.
A new beauty hall is being opened in the Manchester branch of Selfridges in October and this will be promoted by experiential campaigns that feature a mobile photography studio, which will be used to source ‘real life’ models that will be featured in an outdoor print campaign on billboards and taxis. Selfridges is known for its iconic yellow and black branding and this could look particularly striking for the beauty hall campaign, combining the branding with crowd-sourced imagery reproduced using full colour printing.
South Birmingham and the city centre itself where the Birmingham branch of Selfridges is located are becoming known for being cultural and shopping meccas so the continued PR and marketing activity from SKV Communications that spans print, online and broadcast media should serve to elevate the image of this area of the city even further.
Other local retailers could consider using local print companies in South Birmingham or Manchester for promotional activity, especially boutiques with a similar – if smaller – offering than luxe outlet Selfridges. Selfridges is a company with a sizeable marketing budget, but high quality print communications can be produced to bespoke requirements and tailored to suit any budget.
