Barber’s shop blocked from view by bus stop

A barber’s in Ruislip Manor is losing out on business because a bus stop hides the shop and any advertising it does from the view of passers-by.
Reem’s Barbers is located on Victoria Road in Ruislip Manor. Despite the long-running six year tenancy, proprietor Ayman Youssef claims that a Transport for London bus stop is preventing him from attracting customers due to the fact that the stop blocks the barber’s shop from view.
Mr. Youssef recently spoke about the bus stop to the Uxbridge Gazette, saying:
“It completely blocks my shop window. TfL will be upgrading some of the bus shelters so why can’t they take the chance to do something about it?”
Transport for London has made the decision to leave the bus stop where it is, citing that there are no other suitable locations for it. There are a number of ways that the barber’s shop could drum up business without needing full visibility of the shop window – Mr. Youssef could contact a local print shop in Ruislip Manor to arrange flyer printing.
Ruislip Manor residents could then receive flyers advertising promotions and opening hours for the shop. Flyer printing is a tried and tested way of driving footfall to shops and businesses and does not require any advertising space or unobstructed views to be effective.
Reem’s Barbers continues to trade despite the bus stop and Transport for London has no plans to review the positioning of it anytime soon.
