FESPA Exhibition 2010 will take place in Munich from 22 – 26 June. The exhibition is described as:
the ultimate showcase of innovation in digital, screen and textile printing .. ..the global markets most powerful launch – pad into economic recovery
FESPA is a global federation of screen and digital printing associations. Munich promises to attract well over 30,000 visitors from over 125 countries. To date, 18 UK companies have taken space. Organisers are expecting up to 700 exhibitors.
The 2010 exhibition is already larger than last year’s event and is well set to become Europe’s biggest digital exhibition. It will feature halls dedicated to Screen Printing, garment decoration and digital printing technologies. Finishing and display companies are making a good showing amongst many first time exhibitors. Overall, the exhibition is 25% up on bookings.
Much digital printing innovation has taken place in the screen printing industry. The processes are used on a great variety of different materials. Some printing companies, for example, traditionally involved with offset – litho, have diversified into areas of screen print. The digital world can now make such diversification a more viable option for some firms.
You may be a UK printing company seeking ways to expand your business base. It would be interesting to observe another area of print to see how the digital innovations have been applied to printing a huge variety of other materials, not just paper based stock. There seems to be a genuine buzz about the 2010 exhibition. It should prove to be very interesting for printers from all sectors of the industry.
