Paper merchants move into consumables

Printing firms in and around Preston, for example stationery and brochure printers in Preston, will always be looking for the best price for their consumables. Preston based company, Rosefox, which is by trade a paper merchant, diversified into consumables nearly 20 years ago.
The family-run paper merchant is part of the Aims group. They have not regretted the move. They say that they have gained a reputation for offering quality products into the marketplace, combined with a speedy and efficient service. Printing supplies manager Mr. Malcolm Diggles said:
“The Company has worked with several suppliers, including Agfa, Vanson and more recently Glunz & Jensen. What makes the difference is that Rosefox can offer a more personalised service to customers, unlike some of the larger suppliers or distributors. We will find out what the customers need and offer products that are going to help their business move forward”
Mr. Diggles also added:
“This is one of the reasons we have been successful supplying consumables, as we are not just after a quick sale. We are in it for the long term and we will keep offering new innovative products to our customers.”
Some printing companies in Preston now deal with Rosefox just for their consumables and are seen by their suppliers as a genuine consumables supplier to the trade. Another paper merchant, Paperlinx, has also recently moved into the consumables market. Could this kind of diversification signal a significant but real change in the merchanting sector?
