Posters target cyclists in London

In conjunction with the launch of the Barclays Cycle Hire scheme that has kicked off in London, outdoor advertising company, Clear Channel have devised some advertising opportunities that will help advertisers to target cyclists in the capital. As part of the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson’s initiative to encourage Londoners to cycle around their city, Barclays launched their cycle hire scheme. The outdoor advertising sales company, Clear Channel, have claimed that cyclists in London would be twice as likely as car drivers to come into contact and engage with outdoor posters as they are travelling at a slower speed. Clear Channel have therefore put together a package for advertisers to buy poster sites that are within 100 metres proximity of the bike hire docking stations, and also along the route of the Barclays Cycle Superhighway that has been created. The poster sites include bus shelter locations and phone box sites.
It is hoped that the Barclay’s scheme will increase cycling trips in and around London city by 55,000 cycle trips each and every day. This is a massive number of people who could be targeted with the outdoor advertising poster sites and a real opportunity for brands who want to engage with Londoners and be part of the fabric of their everyday lives.
Companies who provide poster printing in Potters Bar or in other areas of London should be able to provide quotations for brands looking to take advantage of the increase in cyclists and their engagement with poster sites in London.
