Leaflets to promote Hertfordshire at the London 2012 Olympics

Hertfordshire is to play a key role in the London 2012 Olympics as it was revealed this week that Herts County Showground is to be used as a major car park to support a park and ride scheme when London hosts the Olympic Games in 2012. This may seem a far cry from the glamour of hosting a major sporting event, but facilities like this are essential to the smooth running of the games and the fact that people will be visiting Hertfordshire to park will give a boost to the local economy.
There has been an agreement that there will be posters and leaflets advertising attractions in Potters Bar, St. Albans and the rest of the Hertfordshire region and this kind of advertisement can only be good for local tourism. Mike Harman, the secretary of the Herts County Showground said that the venture had the full support of the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce due to the fact that people would not simply be visiting the site to park and then moving straight onto the games. The idea of using services like flyer printing to promote Potters Bar and other Hertfordshire regions will encourage visitors to stay on and enjoy the amenities on offer in the county.
Communicating calendars of events or local attractions could really help Hertfordshire to benefit from the Olympic car parking arrangements, especially if effective flyer printing is used. Potters Bar and Hertfordshire have a lot to offer visitors from around the globe and this new venture hopes to showcase these.
