POS printing a key weapon in the summer sales battle for profits
June 25, 2011 by Michael
Bournemouth and Poole’s high street shops are turning to point of sale
printing to help them drive sales in the increasingly tough high street financial climate.
Summer sales, which traditionally happen at the end of the summer to clear unwanted stock and make way for the new season, have been brought forward and shops are now competing with each other, displaying banners and signs advertising sales and reductions. Red and white sale signs adorn local window displays and this sale messaging forms the basis for the majority of POS printing.
Poole and Bournemouth high streets are two areas that have reported a 2.2 present drop in their sales figures, year on year. This is one of the reasons for going into summer sale mode so early this year.
However, whilst the environment is increasingly tough for retailers, this news of early sales is positive for customers. As shops fight to drop their prices lower than those of their competitors, consumers can get a bargain by keeping an eye on the different sales signs around the towns.
Shops wishing to give their window or checkout area a boost could contact local printing companies offering services such as POS printing and
banner printing. Poole and Bournemouth are popular tourist destinations and whilst tourists partake in the leisure activities on offer, shopping is often on the agenda for visitors to the area. The better signposted an offer is, the more likely people are to visit the shop hosting the offer.
