Poole housing estate plans for better image

Residents of a housing estate have joined together and could soon be using the services of a print company in Poole to try to combat the negative perceptions of the area in which they live. The Bourne Valley Action Group (BVAG) has recently been established to try to foster more of a community spirit on the Bourne Estate in the area and help bring the residents of the area together to try to encourage them to help themselves. Some areas of the estate, it is reported, have been dogged by anti-social behaviour and bad press over the recent years. The BVAG want to bring the community together to portray the positives of the area in terms of its transport networks and the heath land nearby and stress that it is the minority who cause the problems that are reported in the press.
The group have been working hard over the last few months to put on lunches and fun days to bring the community together and most recently held a fireworks party that hundreds of residents attended. Play sessions are also being held on a weekly basis for young children from the area.
Their plans do not stop there, as the BVAG are hoping to make significant improvements to the residential area by securing funding for a new playground on the estate and improving the look of certain roads with new plants. The BVAG is looking for new members and is considering the services of companies offering flyer printing in Poole to produce leaflets and distribute around the area to try and drum up more support.
