Local authorities in Dorset have been working hard to put together and promote a programme of events to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Local organisations throughout Dorset, including those in Weymouth and Poole, have been working together with local councils to ensure that every base is covered when it comes to enjoying the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations in June, when the nation will celebrate her reign of sixty years.
An events programme is available on Weymouth and Portland Borough Council website, detailing all manner of events, from parties to sailing excursions to fireworks displays. A leaflet has also been produced to publicise these events. This is available from the council’s website as well as being available at tourist information offices. Times of national celebration are often peppered with various events and this is no exception. With so many celebrations occurring, local authorities often find that the best and most concise way to communicate their programme of events is via flyer printing.
Poole also has a programme of events that will be taking place, with the focus being on Beaulieu where a three-day programme of motor shows, parties and celebrations with a 1950s theme will be held.
Local authorities up and down the country are using a mix of media to promote their own jubilee celebration events, combining social media activity on sites like Facebook and Twitter with more traditional marketing methods like poster and flyer printing to ensure that each event sees a good turnout in terms of the number of visitors.
