February 13, 2011 by Michael
When thinking of fashion capitals of the world, Norwich may not be the first city to spring to mind. However, Norwich Fashion Week is set to launch on 17th February and this is being hotly anticipated as being a landmark event on the Norwich arts and culture calendar for 2011. The event sees a varied programme of events from styling sessions to catwalk shows that will be held around the city until 24th February. Norwich Fashion Week looks set to ramp up the demand for digital printing in Norwich as the organisers need to produce leaflets, brochure and posters. Companies offering services like catalogue printing could also be called on to produce promotional materials that can be given out at catwalk shows to promote the garments being worn on stage.
A number of independent designers and retailers based in Norwich will be taking part in Norwich Fashion Week as a way to both celebrate the independent spirit of style in the city and as a way to boost the economy of the region. From high-end design creations like those sold by Norwich retailer Vanilla, to the quirky vintage collections produced by retro-inspired boutique Poppy Valentine; the range of fashion available in Norwich will be unveiled for residents to enjoy. By coupling live shows and styling events with digital printing, Norwich Fashion Week is sure to be a huge success and could put Norwich on the cultural map. Today, Norfolk… Tomorrow, New York!
