Print Companies in Crewe

This town is best known for its large railway station. It is also the home of the famous Crewe Works – where magnificent steam locomotives were once built. Much of the Works were demolished in the post-industrial 1980s, to make way for a new supermarket and leisure park. However, railway engineering does continue there – albeit, on a much reduced scale. Until 2002 Crewe Works also housed the Rolls Royce production line – now relocated to the Bentley factory in Pyms Lane, which relies on Crewe’s
printing companies to make its presence known in the High Street.
Crewe remains an enormous draw for anyone interested in railway history, and Crewe’s poster printing companies, like us at Minuteman Press, are often to be seen putting the finishing touches to a banner for The Crewe Heritage Centre. Previously called The Railway Age Museum, the Heritage Centre is still housed at the LMS Yard, Crewe Station. However, today it features other aspects of Crewe’s history as well.
The Centre is a popular attraction for families and schools, and Crewe’s banner printers are kept busy promoting special exhibitions such as the Cheshire Railway Modellers Exhibition (2010 sees the third one take place, in the Exhibition Hall) Crewe’s
print companies also do poster
printing,
postcard printing, and
POS printing for Crewe Heritage Centre’s gift shop.
The town centre redevelopment plan – due to be completed in 2010 – means Crewe’s printing companies are kept busy informing locals and businesses of progress. However, the town already buzzes with life, especially when it comes to music venues – the clubs of Crewe use poster printing at every opportunity, to announce their latest gigs, and flyer printing is a Crewe pub’s main way of announcing in-house events.
Crewe needs printing companies as never before – it is recreating itself as a vibrant and modern city.
