New bus maps and services guides for Leicestershire towns

Leicestershire County Council has printed a number of travel guides with a focus on the options available for bus travel in the area.
The leaflets have been produced as part of the Council’s ‘Choose How You Move’ scheme, dedicated to giving local residents as much information as possible to help them to travel around Leicestershire. The leaflets are currently being distributed to around 100,000 homes in the Leicestershire area, covering towns such as Coalville, Loughborough, Market Harborough and Lutterworth. The guides are also available as a download from the Council’s website.
By producing these leaflets, Leicestershire County Council is able to reach a wide range of people who might not otherwise have known about ‘Choose How You Move’. This method of communication is an effective way of ensuring blanket coverage of a large area and there is a proven success rate of engagement that can be attributed to leaflet and flyer printing. Lutterworth, Loughborough and the surrounding areas all have a lot to offer residents in terms of shopping and public services such as hospitals and by providing in-depth information about transport links between the region’s towns and villages, the Council can help people to travel between them.
The Leicestershire County Council Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport, Lesley Pendleton said:
“The new town bus map and guides are valuable tools for passengers and enable them to plan hassle-free journeys. People choosing to travel by bus are not only helping to tackle road congestion but also reducing their carbon footprint at the same time.”
