Cash for your Community scheme launches in Lutterworth
April 23, 2012 by Gareth
The Cash for your Community scheme has launched in Lutterworth, with up to £15,000 on offer to support local projects or improvement initiatives.
The Cash for your Community incentive is a project devised by Leicestershire County Council that is aimed at getting local community groups involved to contribute to the fund application and approval process. The idea behind Cash for your Community is that it is not a simple grants programme. Instead, people are encouraged to get involved either by submitting proposals, voting for their favourite projects or making comments on proposals that have been submitted.
The scheme is being advertised around the local region and an eye-catching poster advertising the money that is available has been produced by Leicestershire County Council using poster printing. Lutterworth, Rural West and Broughton Ashley are all areas that are eligible for the funding; they simply need to put forward an application.
Poster printing is essential in advertising an incentive like this, particularly because many community groups meet in spaces like town halls or community centres that have notice boards, which are regularly updated with posters and leaflets containing information on what is happening in the local area. Therefore, posters are sure to be noticed.
Applications for funding must be made by 26th April and then proposals will be open to public comments and votes from 27th April. The successful applicants will be announced on 17th May as part of the Community Forum Budget Decision Night.
