Printing company in Glasgow commissions designer for feature in national magazine

Glasgow-based graphic designer Kerr Vernon was recently commissioned by a printing company based in Glasgow to produce work for an issue of The Drum, with fantastic results. The Drum is a national magazine, focusing on innovation and creativity in advertising, marketing and design and to be asked to be included in a feature the site is running is quite an honour. Kerr Vernon is a renowned designer with over 15 years’ experience when it comes to creating bespoke designs for both the web and traditional and digital printing. Glasgow-based designer Kerr Vernon produced a stylish mailer and business cards that were musically themed for the issue of The Drum using a technique called letterpress printing. This recent showcase of work shows that when it comes to services like business card printing in Glasgow, the city is still at the cutting edge of both print technology and design.
The printing technique used by Kerr Vernon is one that involves using vintage printing presses and special soft paper that presses the ink onto raised letters. The end result was so impressive that Kerr Vernon has since received requests for similar printing from big global businesses like Apple and Sony. Whilst this kind of printing is designed to be seen as art, there are a number of printing companies in Glasgow offering more functional business card printing. Glasgow based businesses could benefit from the convenience of using a local printer whilst retaining the quality one might expect from a larger national firm.
