Glasgow magazine environmentally friendly
February 8, 2010 by Lyndon
Increasing numbers of individuals and businesses are becoming much more aware of environmental issues. Many small Glasgow stationery printers and large print firms also are keen to do their bit for the environment.
Savkam Media is about to launch a new magazine. It will be called ‘Recognise’ and will be marketed as a bi-monthly. The magazine is aimed at the wealthy and well off market and it will be about leading an environmentally aware lifestyle.
Glasgow printing company, Print Resolution, will produce the magazine which will be 230x290mm, 160pp and it will also include a 60pp 194x248mm supplement. The magazine will be printed using only environmentally friendly methods. They will use only FSC-sourced stock and the content will cover eco-aware subjects.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) was founded in 1993 to support world forests. It is a non-profit organisation. FSC sourced paper is an excellent alternative to recycled paper. The organisation operates a ‘chain of custody’ where timber products can be verified. The wood is very carefully tracked through all stages of its production. The tracking is then independently verified and if all criteria are fulfilled the timber is then eligible to carry the FSC logo.
The new magazine will be distributed through up-market health clubs, good hotels, in airport first class lounges and will also be found in WHSmith stores.
With global warming becoming ever more of an issue, the Glasgow printing company will be their own bit for the environment, and finding a new market at the same time.
