Glasgow film festival programme revealed
February 11, 2012 by Gareth
The programme for next month’s Glasgow Film Festival has been revealed as the city prepares to host a number of cinematic events throughout February.
Glasgow Film Festival is one of the highlights in the cultural calendar in Scotland and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever, with over 200 films being screened between 16th and 26th February at venues across the city. As well as featuring a number of film screenings, the festival also hosts a number of ‘fests within the fest’, which are smaller events focusing on a particular type of film.
Local print shops in Glasgow will be well-versed with the film festival, as they may be approached to help with printing promotional materials for the different sections of the film festival. With various events vying for the attention of tourists and locals alike, poster, flyer, programme and brochure printers in Glasgow could help make a difference when it comes to spreading the word about the festival and bumping up the numbers of attendees.
Allison Gardner is one of the Glasgow Film Festival co-directors. She recently spoke about the highlights of this year’s festival that she was particularly looking forward to, saying:
“There’s some great documentaries that I would recommend: How to Die in Oregon and Into the Abyss, a Werner Herzog documentary which is fantastic, and Better This World, so there’s a really strong Stranger than Fiction strand at the festival this year with the documentaries.”
