Sell-out gig success for Scottish comedian
February 26, 2012 by Gareth
A Scottish comedian has sold out a run of five nights at the Alhambra theatre in Dunfermline.
Comedy star Kevin Bridges is set to tour the UK later in the year, with a run of dates in Dunfermline from 2nd to 6th December. This is the longest run of dates in one town in the whole of Scotland and is testament to Kevin’s popularity.
The fact that the shows have sold so well also speaks volumes about the marketing abilities of the team at the theatre. Shows are promoted using a variety of media, including online, press and flyer printing. Dunfermline’s residents responded well to the marketing campaign by selling out his final show in just a few hours.
The marketing manager for Dunfermline’s Alhambra theatre is Claire Fletcher. She recently spoke to the Dunfermline Press about Kevin’s sell-out success, saying:
“There’s been an incredible response yet again from the public. Dunfermline’s going to be the longest run on his tour and we’re delighted Kevin agreed to do the additional dates.”
Dunfermline Press is also capitalising on the success of Kevin Bridges’ sell-out shows by running a promotional competition, offering tickets as prizes. Any other theatres that may not have experienced the sell-out success that Dunfermline theatre has may consider using local print shops to produce marketing material to drum up interest in forthcoming shows. Flyer, programme and poster printing all help to spread the word and attract punters to new shows and productions.
