Golden tickets for litter bin users in Dunfermline

Residents of Print company in Dunfermline printing services Dunfermline are being encouraged to use litter bins more or to help clear up the rubbish in the town centre, and they could receive a financial incentive to do so.

Dunfermline Delivers, the organisation behind the city’s Business Improvement District, is set to incentivise local residents when it comes to helping clean up the town’s act. The organisation has launched a campaign entitled ‘Dish the Dirt on Dunfermline,’ and this encourages local people to get in touch with Dunfermline Delivers to tell them which areas of the town needs attention from their clean-up squad.

The Dish the Dirt campaign is also set to reward local residents who are found to be disposing of their rubbish responsibly in the town centre by using the litter bins provided. Dunfermline Delivers will randomly hand out spot prizes to people using these bins. The prizes will take the form of printed ‘Golden Tickets’ which represent vouchers for local businesses and which will be up to £10 in value. Dunfermline Delivers will run the ‘Dish the Dirt’ campaign activity over the weekend of 26th and 27th May 2012 in order to clean up the town ready for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations. One of the directors of the organisation commented on the activity, saying:

“Our floral display tubs and baskets are due to be in place by the end of May so we’re determined to have Dunfermline looking its best in time for the Jubilee.”
