Croydon Cadets hand out leaflets at Jubilee Pageant
June 23, 2012 by Gareth
A group of Cadets from Croydon was lucky enough to play a part in the Queen’s recent Diamond Jubilee celebrations by handing out leaflets about the event to attendees at her Jubilee Pageant.
Cadets from the Royal Russell School attended the recent royal Jubilee Pageant to help distribute leaflets in relation to the event. There were 56 cadets and five members of staff from Croydon-based Royal Russell School of Combined Cadets in attendance on the day, with the group assembling in full uniform. Members of the Royal Russell School also attended the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Armed Forces Parade and Muster, with one of the cadets writing in an article on the Royal Russell School website:
“Overall it was an amazing day, and something that I will remember for the rest of my life.”
The troop assisted at the pageant all day, handing out leaflets, before being rewarded for their hard work with access to a special viewing area at the edge of a bridge on the River Thames. Many other youth organisations that helped out with the Jubilee celebrations were also given access to this bridge viewing spot.
Special events like the Jubilee Pageant are ideal situations in which to distribute leaflets or flyers, as the leaflet distributors have the opportunity to target large numbers of people quickly and effectively. Companies offering brochure and flyer printing in Croydon often work with local groups and clubs to produce leaflets with a view towards distributing them at similar events in the future.
