Crewe print company helps with Full Monty
December 21, 2009 by Michael
Christmas 2009 is nearly with us and the silly season appears to be in full swing once again, albeit in the name of a good cause.
A Crewe Royal Mail worker, Mr, Dave Wilson, and his wife Jackie, recently suffered the tragic loss of their six year old. Mr. Wilson’s fellow workers at Royal Mail came up with a way to raise funds for ClairHouse Hospice. They stripped off and gave it the full Monty for a photograph shoot. The photos were used on a calendar which is being sold to raise money for the hospice.
Local Crewe photographer, Kevin Sandland, gave his services for free. The shoot took palace at the Post Office Club, where the men posed for a series of “cheeky, but tastefully–shot” pictures.
A printing company in the Crewe area, Writes of Sandbach, helped in the effort by printing the calendars at cost price. Mr. Wilson’s colleagues raised the money for printing costs from local businesses by asking them to sponsor a month in the calendar, which is now on sale at just a fiver.
Dave and Jackie are organising a sponsored Easter walk in 2010 to raise further funds for the hospice. This is a splendid effort by all the people in and around Crewe who took part or offered their services. Well done to all.
