Coventry celebrates Nurses
May 20, 2010 by Michael
NHS hospitals across Coventry and Warwickshire celebrated the work that their fantastic nurses do on May 12th, acknowledging International Nurses Day. Every year, International Nurses Day marks Florence Nightingale’s birthday and celebrates her life and nursing achievements, transforming the face of nursing and famously saving the lives of many soldiers fighting in the Crimean War. Coventry and Warwickshire hospitals organised a series of events around International Nurses Day to mark the achievements of those who have followed in Florence Nightingale’s footsteps and spread the word about the fantastic work that hard working nurses do today.
Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust, that runs the mental health service in the region, held a tea party for elderly patients, and set up information stands to supply further details about their trust. Their bosses also came to join the nurses and help out. NHS Coventry has also teamed up with Coventry University to organise several nursing exhibitions. University Hospital will be displaying posters printed up comparing the work carried out by Florence Nightingale with modern nursing standards and experiences; all to highlight the essential contribution that nurses make to the community and acknowledge their care and commitment to their work.
Exhibitions and posters are a great way to raise awareness and try to engage people in your message. There are printers who can supply poster printing in Coventry for companies looking to harness the power of poster media and supply exhibition materials to provide detail and background to your company and what it can offer.
