Students walk out of college for charity

Companies offering leaflet printing and stationery printing in Banbury or other areas around Oxford have done their part to help out some generous students in the area who will give their time and efforts to raise money for Children in Need. Students from nearby Abingdon and Witney College are planning to raise money by doing a walk into Oxford city centre and then continue their efforts to raise funds for this worthy cause by handing out Children in Need branded stickers and leaflets that are being printed as well as balloons.
The six students from the college are doing their sponsored walk from their college campus in Abingdon into Oxford city centre. The eight mile route will take them through the nearby areas of Radley and Kennington and will take place on November 19th. In all, the students hope to raise £500 and have a very personal reason for helping this charity out.
One of the students, Catherine Hart explained that Children in Need was such a good cause as a friend, who has cerebral palsy, has been helped by counsellor funded by the Children in Need charity. The sessions with the counsellor have made a real difference to her friend’s confidence and Catherine hopes that by raising more money for the charity, other children can receive the same support.
The student’s course leader, Sarah-Jane Arnold, commented on how proud she was of her students’ achievements as the sponsored charity walk will form part of the student’s diploma in health and social care.
