Banbury print company joins environmentally responsible Two Sides initiative
January 15, 2010 by Gareth
A printing company in Banbury, Banbury Litho, has joined the Two Sides paper campaign. The initiative was created in 2008 with members from the Graphic Communications Supply Chain including printing and publishing, pre-press, press, finishing, forestry, pulp, paper inks and chemicals. The aim of the campaign is to promote responsible print practice and to inform about the practicality and sustainability of print and paper as a communications medium.
Banbury Litho’s managing director Mr. Matthew Wise said:
“We support Two Sides because it’s important to all of us in our industry that we raise awareness of how responsible we are environmentally and what our industry has done over recent years to improve our environmental credentials.”
The Two Sides initiative now involves around 100 companies including, for example, Decapo Publishing, RTfacts, LOOOP, Futurama, Mekvale, Myllykoski Sales, Encore Envelopes and Mohawk Fine Papers and is set to attract even more members in 2010.
Environmental issues are very much to the forefront currently. It is likely that they will become even more pressing as more evidence as to the causes of global warming becomes available. The Banbury printing company is keen to improve their ‘green’ credentials. Joining the Two Sides initiative is an indication to both government and customers that they are serious about their commitment to these pressing issues. They continue in their efforts to reduce the company’s impact on the environment. Customers are likely to insist on environmental responsibility form suppliers, including print companies in Banbury, in the future.
