Ayrshire youths design NHS posters
May 31, 2012 by Gareth
A group of young people from an Ayrshire Youth Centre have joined forces with Kilmarnock Football Club to promote a new NHS campaign.
A number of young people from Ardrossan Youth Centre recently spent time designing posters that will be displayed throughout Ayrshire to communicate the various NHS services available in the region and when it is appropriate to use each service. The posters have been produced using poster printing and
Ayr-based Ardrossan Youth Centre is now working together with local sporting heroes at Kilmarnock Football Club who is promoting the campaign.
The Clinical Director of Emergency and Urgent Care spoke about the new campaign, saying:
“Knowing which NHS service to use, and when, is extremely important both in terms of patient care and the running of the NHS… We hope the new posters will help young people access their health service more easily and get the advice, expertise and treatment they need in the right place at the right time.”
The designs feature a number of scenarios and solutions, from a woman experiencing night-time stomach issues to a young man breaking his arm when skateboarding. These designs feature on posters throughout the region and other printed materials are also being created to support the campaign, such as leaflets and drinks mats.
For more information on the ‘Know who to turn to’ campaign, local residents are advised to keep an eye out for the recently-printed campaign material or to contact the NHS directly on 0800 169 1441.
