Ayr agency campaign to raise regional profile

Retailers, manufacturers, brochure printers and other businesses in and around Ayr could all benefit from a new initiative which is being led by local body VisitScotland. They have hired an agency based in Ayr to develop a new brand for the Ayrshire and Arran region.
The campaign is being funded by Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Scottish Enterprise, East Ayrshire Council, North Ayrshire Council and South Ayrshire Council. The Ocean Agency won the contract to develop the new branding. The objective of the campaign is to distinguish the unique features of the region from other regions in Scotland.
The agency will work to identify the unique selling points of the region. They held a series of workshops on January 11th and 18th this year to gather opinions from businesses about their campaign. The new brand is aimed at developing pride in Ayrshire and Arran products and they hope to attract new visitors, new businesses and investors, as well as people who would like to settle and work in the area.
Reports on the workshops were due to be submitted in February with final conclusions to be drafted by the end of March. An electronic branding tool kit will be distributed for businesses, partners and stakeholders to use as part of the campaign.
The new regional brand should prove to be a positive factor in promoting activity and growth in the region. The campaign is about to go live, local businesses in Ayr are likely to welcome the initiative and wish it all success.
