Advertising banners to adorn Altrincham’s streets

The streets of Altrincham are set to be transformed thanks to the local authorities giving the go-ahead for a number of advertising banners to be installed.
The streets of Altrincham are set to receive a colourful boost after planning permission was granted to install 23 advertising banners on lampposts throughout the town centre.
High-level advertising banners like these are known to be extremely effective in raising awareness of the products or services being advertised on them, so any available advertising space that local businesses buy could be a real boost to the local economy. Many local businesses in the Altrincham area already advertise their wares on colourful, eye catching banners that are hung on the exterior of their premises and produced using local print companies who offer services like banner printing.
Altrincham residents will start to see the banners being installed over the coming weeks, with Railway Street and Stamford New Road being the focal points for the installation.
Councillor Phillip Gratrix spoke about the new banners, saying:
“The banners will add colour to the street scene. If you want to look at the buildings you look behind the banners and look at the buildings.”
Another councillor, Michael Wetton, also spoke about this new development, commenting:
“I think something like this is worth doing to give the area a lift.”
Councillors hope that this new venture into banner advertising for Altrincham will hopefully give the area a splash of colour, a boost to local businesses and a fresh look and feel to the streets where the banners are installed.
